This love story started before they met even got a chance to meet in person.
Lizzie actually admired John the first moment she saw him even though it was through photographs. She knew they were destined to be together. Their love started at a young age. Lizzie goes on to tell us their story, “I knew his family for years before even meeting him. I was 16. He was 17.
One day after church worship practice our team went out to steak and shake. This was on September 19th, 2013 at around 9pm. I remember it like it was yesterday,
I had heard about him coming into town and living with the family. I was already drooling over his pictures and knew exactly what he looked like. John he had no idea who I was but I was determined to change that!
That night he walked into Steak and Shake would change my life forever. I was visiting with a couple of friends at another table and did not even realize he came in. I returned to my table and pass him without noticing. The girls at my table all freaked out that they had just met him. I was so disappointed in that moment. That quickly changed as I turned around and there he was sitting with my mom! Days go by, we finally got a chance to chat at church and became friends instantly, then best friends, and then the rest is history!”
Lizzie explains the feeling she had when she set eyes on her future husband. “The moment I saw him, as corny and sappy as it is, my heart literally skipped a beat. God whispered to me he is the one.”
John knew that he wanted to show Lizzie how much he loved her. His Orlando proposal needed to be special and romantic. What is the most romantic day of the year? Valentines day!
John wanted to completely surprise Lizzie so he took her on a journey throughout the evening that ended with a magical Orlando proposal.
Lizzie describes her special day, “John’s proposal was like a dream! He took me out on Valentines Day. I was thinking, wow he really went all out this year. We planned a double date with his best friend and his wife, which is where I thought we were going. To my surprise he took me on a horse carriage ride by a lake. The carriage ride took us through the majestic hotels with a beautiful view at night with the stars overhead. The ride ended at a bridge over the lake and with a beautiful gazebo at the other end. The gazebo was lit with twinkling lights and rose petals on the floor. As we entered the gazebo he got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me. The moment I said, yes our family and closest friends came out of the bushes and screamed for joy!
Little did he know this was my dream proposal since I was a little girl! No one knew that about me which is why I know he is the one for me!”
John’s attention to detail truly shows how much he appreciates Lizzie. Coordinating a carriage ride, a lit gazebo with rose petals and involving friends and family is no easy task. John made this Orlando proposal absolutely special, exactly what Lizzie deserved.
