Miami Proposal Location Article: Miami is known as the “magic city.” Miami’s magic is derived from its natural beauty and unique tropical attractions. This article will provide Miami proposal ideas and locations to inspire your partner’s dream proposal. We will answer the question that you are pondering right now. “I am ready take the next step, but where do I propose in Miami?”
The locations listed are NOT in an order of most recommended to least. Each of these proposal locations could be at the top of our list. It is up to you to pick the Miami proposal location that fits your relationship. Good luck!
The crystal clear water and white sand is what put Miami on the map. While it may seem cliché to propose on the beach in Miami, this classic has proven to be an impressive proposal location time and time again.
To plan your beach proposal fist pick your beach location. Scout the beach at the time of day you plan to propose. Early in the day or at sunset will have fewer people around to make your proposal more intimate.
On of our favorite Miami beach proposal locations is Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne. This proposal location not only has a beautiful beach but a historic lighthouse that offers a unique and romantic background to your proposal.

If you want a beautiful view of the ocean but don’t want your feet in the sand, South Pointe Pier is a great proposal location. At the most southern tip of South Beach, this park offers two amazing views. To the west, Biscayne Bay with the Miami Skyline rising from the water. The western view is great for evening proposals. To the east, a newly constructed pier extends out in the ocean.
There is a good chance you will see a cruise ship sail off on its voyage, giving your proposal a grand audience. Once again I recommend scouting the proposal location to determine which view you prefer.
If you would like to take your partner to a nice dinner before or after your proposal, I recommend Smith and Wollensky’s. It is located right in South Pointe Park and always offers a fine dining experience.
Proposing at a restaurant is a classic proposal idea. Restaurant proposals need two essential things to be impressive. first delicious food that you’re partner loves and second a spectacular view.
The following restaurants in Miami offer unique views. Full disclosure, I have not had dinner at all of these restaurants so I cannot vouch for the quality of service or food. Before booking a reservation do your research. Read reviews and examine the menu to ensure the food is to your partners liking. Also when making a reservation inform the restaurant you plan to propose. The staff may be able to have a champagne toast ready for you when your partner says, “Yes!” Do NOT give your waiter the ring or attempt to slip it into your partners champagne glass, way too much room for error and dangerous.
There are new restaurants popping up all the time so check sites like Yelp for the latest and greatest.
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is one our favorite Miami proposal locations. The views, the ornate gardens and the classically romantic decorations seem to be made for proposals. When we are recommending Miami proposal ideas to our clients we always offer Vizcaya as ideal location. When you walk into Vizcaya you will immediately know why this is one of Miami’s top proposal locations.

The modern architectural designed theater by Frank Ghery is the home to The New World Symphony. When you walk into the theater the space opens high above with angled walls seeming to hang from thin air. The theater is designed to be eye-catching and acoustically perfect.
Yes, the building is a great proposal location but the music is what makes this proposal idea spectacular. If your partner already enjoys classical music or is new to the symphony they will still love this experience. Are you looking for a more modern twist on classical music? The New World Symphony produces a regular concert series called Pulse Nights. The Pulse concert combines a DJ with the symphony providing a lounge experience. I actually took my wife on our first date to the new world symphony, so this location holds a special place in my heart. New World Symphony
Did you know that the oldest building in the United States is actually located in Miami? No your knowledge of American history is not incorrect, but this is a very unique story. The building was completed in 1141 AD in Sacramenia Spain. In 1925, William Randolph Hearst purchased the Monastery. The structures were dismantled stone by stone, and packed in more than 11,000 wooden crates. Each crate was numbered for identification and shipped to the United States. Soon after the shipment arrived, Hearst’s financial problems forced most of his collection to be sold at auction. The massive crates remained in a warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, for 26 years.
In 1952 two entrepreneurs looking to create a tourist attraction purchased the crates. It took 19 months and the equivalent of nearly $20 million dollars (in today’s currency) to put the Monastery back together. In 1953 Time magazine called it, “the biggest jigsaw puzzle in history.”
Today The Ancient Spanish Monastery is an active church, museum and event venue. The building is surrounded by beautiful gardens with plenty of places for a private proposal. The Ancient Spanish Monastery
South Florida life is all about the water. The clear blue sea can be a perfect complement to a proposal. There are many ways to propose on the water. Examples include renting your own motorboat, chartering a sunset sail, or a sight-seeing tour.
Pack your love’s favorite food and drinks for the day followed by a proposal with the sun reflecting off the waves.
Does your partner love the tropical scenery of Miami? If so The Fairchild Botanical Garden provides an immersion in everything that makes Florida beautiful. Take a long walk through the flowers and exotic plants to start your day.
Research the best location within the gardens that will fit your proposal. As your walk comes to end get down on one knee and ask her to marry you with the natural beauty as your backdrop. Fairchild Botanical Gardens
Miami from the sky is a breath-taking sight. As long as your partner is not afraid of heights, a plane or helicopter tour can take your proposal to a different level.
Speak to your tour operator and discuss your proposal they may have tips on how to make it even more special. One idea is spell out “will you marry me” on the ground as you fly above. Make sure your pilot knows of this plan and you have discussed the flight path.
Writing out the message can either be done prior by you or coordinated with some helpful friends. To make the message stand out I recommend using a dark color tarp if writing on the sand or a white tarp if on grass. Pre-cut the letters so you or your friends can easily unfold and spell out the message. Make sure you secure the message to prevent wind from blowing it away.

If you and your partner are certified EXPERIENCED divers Miami and the Florida Keys offer great dive locations. Take your passion for exploring the underwater paradise to the next level. Plan a dive packing a water proof sign that reads “Will you marry me?” I want to stress again, make sure you are experienced and so is your partner. Drowning during a proposal is not ideal.
If you are not an experienced diver but still want an underwater proposal check out Miami Seaquarium. They have an attraction called Sea Trek Reef Encounter which is described as, “An underwater walking journey through our 300,000 gallon tropical reef. While wearing a state-of-the-art dive helmet that allows you to breathe freely, you’ll feel right at home under the sea. As you explore our reef you’ll discover unique experiences around every corner. During your 20-minute journey, you’ll encounter tropical fish, stingrays, and a variety of unique sea creatures. Become truly immersed in our tropical reef as our divers feed schools of fish and majestic rays.” Make sure you contact the Seaquarium and let them know your proposal plan so they can assist you. Remember to bring that underwater sign, as you wont be able to talk. I would also leave the ring outside the water, don’t want a fish having an expensive snack. Miami Seaquarium
