Congratulations to Andrew McCormick and Katie Dunmore who recently got engaged high in the sky. Andrew popped the question while flying 1,000 feet above Bermuda.   Love was certainly in the air with this unique proposal idea!

Andrew came up with the aerial marriage proposal idea when he read an article about the Blue Sky Flights’ Cessna tours.

He convinced her friends and family to help provide the logistics of asking Katie to marry him from the ground.   This is an amazing combination of two types of proposals. Her friends and family gathered on the ground at Warwick Long Bay in Bermuda, to help create the proposal message. They laid out gigantic strips of tarp on the beach to spell out the words, “Will you marry me?” and then created a human question mark! Talk about having friends and family who love you.

The engagement ring was custom designed by Bermuda by Swiss Timing with a matching custom cedar ring box made by Alan Murray.

Everything was set in motion he now just needed to convince her to take the flight.   He told her he had won the flight tickets from his company’s Christmas party. The tickets needed to be used or they would lose them.

Luckily the weather was perfect so there was a clear view of Bermuda’s beautiful beaches from the air. The pilot called out to them to look at the beach as there were people building, “An impressive sand castle”.

When Katie saw the writing on the beach it didn’t register to her at first, as she wasn’t expecting it. Then Andrew turned to Katie with the ring in his hand and said, ‘Will you marry me?’

She was shocked at Andrew’s unique and well-planned proposal.

She said, “Yes!”

They then landed and made their way to celebrate with their loved ones.
